We’ve been hugely encouraged by the support shown for our membership scheme.
Income from subs helps to underwrite our film programme and provides a degree of financial security, enabling us to plan future events without worrying where the money is going to come from.
But more than that, members are the lifeblood of our humble enterprise. Their long-term commitment is a spur to volunteers whose efforts are only rewarded when people turn out in support of what we’re doing.
So it’s only right that members should themselves be rewarded, and in time new ways to say thank you (and hopefully encourage others to join) will be offered.
At present, members can take advantage of discounted ticket prices and free refreshments at special events.
We also offer members the opportunity to borrow films from our DVD library, at no extra cost. The library comprises titles from our programme, made available immediately after they have been screened in the village hall.
In time the library will grow and give members the opportunity to catch up with a film they missed, or savour a second time around. Please email llancarfancine@gmail.com if you’d like to take advantage of the DVD library.
From this point on, we also offer members the chance to share announcements or other notices at monthly screenings (e.g. birthdays, events, fundraising activity etc.). Please email details if you have anything you’d like to share with the audience, and your notice will be read out by a volunteer as part of the introduction before a film screening.
We also want to involve the membership in programming decisions. From the Spring season onwards we’ll offer members the opportunity to suggest film titles which will then be put to the vote. The most popular titles from member ballots will appear in future programmes.
