We needed to end on a high note.

In a year when we picked up multiple awards, secured grant funding to purchase new seating, a high definition projector and electric screen, and (even) hosted a visit by a Government Minister, we had to go out with a bang. And boy, did we!

Gravity was the most lauded film of 2014, a testament to the extraordinary skill and ingenuity of a team of creative talent, many of whom ply their trade in Britain. It is without doubt one of the most impressive examples of ‘cinema as spectacle’ yet conceived and executed.

So it was with some trepidation that we decided to put it on in our village hall. But the new kit performed brilliantly, and now there really is no stopping us!

Thank you for your continued support. All the high tech equipment in the world can’t bring the magic of movies to our village without an appreciative audience. It’s people that make the experience, and we look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to our new season, starting September.

Before then we have an AGM planned to take place on the evening of Saturday 12 July. Details to follow, but we promise of lot of fun to lighten the formalities. Plus we’ll be voting on new membership charges, to make joining our community cinema even more attractive.

From all the volunteers, have a great summer and we hope to see you in July.
