Based on the best-selling novel by Andy Weir, and directed by Ridley Scott, The Martian tells the story of Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon), presumed dead after a fierce storm during a mission to Mars, and left behind by his crew. Watney survives and finds himself stranded on the hostile planet. NASA works tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crew plan a daring rescue mission. The star-studded cast also includes Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels, Donald Glover and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Back in 2013 we hosted a special Bond night with a screening of Skyfall and themed cocktails. It went down a treat, and we’ve decided to do it all again with the latest Bond outing as the centrepiece. Daniel Craig (Bond) is joined by Christoph Waltz as Blofeld, and the film ties up some loose ends from early films amid some truly stunning action sequences. Guaranteed to leave you shaken and stirred.

Filmed on the street and in the house where Bennett and Miss Shepherd lived, acclaimed director Nicholas Hytner reunites with Bennett (The Madness of King George, The History Boys) to bring this touching, poignant, and life-affirming story to the screen. The event is run as a charity fund raiser in association with the Tuesday Club, and more details will follow closer to the time.
